Comparable sports to Sepaktakraw

If you’re a sepaktakraw enthusiast you’re probably familiar with at least one or two the sepaktakraw variations – regu, doubles, or hoop. If you’re a gamer you’ve most likely tried all of them, and perhaps even some of your own weird as well as wonderful variations. We often play solitary vs . one during warm up previously training – it’s a lot of interesting! What you may not be familiar with is the handful of other sports out there that promote the same principle of kicking an important ball over a net. There’s not just sepaktakraw!

If you’re searching for something a little different to watch, in order to perhaps even pick up a few tricks to help you your sepaktakraw game, you might want to visit these surprisingly similar sports coming from around the world.

Bottom Shuttlecock

Most popular in Vietnam, the sport involving foot shuttlecock is basically the same as sepaktakraw with the obvious exception of the ball… Or in this case, the shuttlecock. Recognized in Vietnam as “Da Cau”, the sport started out as a circle sport, where players cooperate to keep typically the shuttlecock in the air, before evolving in to the net game that is played at this time. Sound familiar? A very similar origin to sepaktakraw!

Jokgu

Football-tennis is the easiest way to describe the sport of Jokgu, which originated in Korea in the 1960’s and is still massively popular there. Played on a more substantial court than sepaktakraw, but with an important net only 1. 1m high, some players on each team defend as well as attack in a similar way to how a sepaktakraw team might – except that typically the ball is allowed to bounce amongst each touch. Jokgu would be a fantastic easy beginner sport for an aspiring sepaktakraw player, as it’s a smart way to learn basic ball control capabilities without having to worry too much about having the ball off the ground.

Provided the popularity of Jokgu in Korea, we’re guessing Korean sepaktakraw teams won’t be short of young creativity for years to come!

Foot Volley

Foot Volley is huge in South America, specifically Brazil, which makes sense given the pretty beaches on offer. Foot Volley is actually beach volleyball played without using typically the hands. Just like beach volleyball, online is much higher than in sepaktakraw consequently big spikes aren’t as everyday as clever headers or able sole kicks.

If you’ve ever seen the Brazilian sepaktakraw team play, you’ll notice that these people play sepaktakraw with a distinct Bottom Volley flair – lots of headers and chesting of the ball!

Footbag net

Footbag net uses the same specifications court and net as sepaktakraw, but replaces the ball having a small , fabric footbag, and enables only the use of feet – discomfort no headers, no knees, without cheeky chests to pop typically the ball over the net. Popular in The european countries and North America, footbag net is derived from regular footbag (or hacky sack) where players keep the sack surrounding this time for as long as possible, or, in the freestyle version of the game, perform methods and stalls.

So there you have it, four sports that on first glance are similar to sepaktakraw. We’re perhaps, even, a teensy bit biased, still we don’t think any of these some sports we’ve shown you can match just what sepaktakraw brings to the court. Having said that, if you’re brand new to kicking sports you might choose to dip your legs in one of these four sports when you jump into sepaktakraw. Or you could very well just make the leap; come on throughout, the water is fine!
